Casandra is\u00a0a server for alerting of chemical and reactive hazards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Patents you wouldn&#8217;t want to work with&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Readers of Derek Lowe&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pipeline.corante.com\/\">In The Pipeline<\/a> may be familiar with a series of posts titled <a href=\"http:\/\/pipeline.corante.com\/archives\/things_i_wont_work_with\/\">&#8220;Things I won&#8217;t work with&#8221;<\/a>. In the spirit of those posts, we recently ran Casandra on <a href=\"http:\/\/nextmovesoftware.com\/blog\/2014\/02\/27\/unleashing-over-a-million-reactions-into-the-wild\/\">one million reactions<\/a> extracted from US Patents. One patent highlighted in this preliminary analysis contained an extremely energetic compound.<\/p>\n<p><figure style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/US20100081811A1.png\" alt=\"US20100081811A1\" width=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><code><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/patents\/US20100081811\">US20100081811A1<\/a> [paragraph:18]<\/code><\/figcaption><\/figure>It turns out the above patent is actually from a defence agency and they were intending to make explosives.
